DXF Page Exporter

The DXF Page Exporter is an export filter for ArcMap that gives the user the ability to export a Map Frame or a Page Layout as a DXF file.

Functionality
>> Can export maps and layouts
>> Layouts and maps can be exported in "paper coordinates" or in "real world" coordinates (the coordinate system of one of the map frames); export to "real-world" coordinates can be done with rotated maps as well.
>> Preserves the symbology (line widths, line types, polygon fills, hatches, etc.)
>> The colors are matched as closely as possible using standard and enhanced algorithms.
>> Can export in inches and millimeters
>> Different DXF formats supported - 2000 and r12

Known Limitations
>> Bitmaps not exported (image layers, bitmap symbols, etc.)
>> All ArcMap layers are exported to a single layer (layer 0).
>> Export to DXF version r12 does not support solid polygon fills.
>> Very high resolution output (e.g. greater than 4000 dpi) may result in unfilled polygons. This is a limitation of AutoCAD and Volo View Express and not DXF Page Exporter.
>> Data precision loss due to real-world to pixel coordinate conversion.

Demo DXF Page Exporter
There are two versions, one for use with ArcGIS 8.x and one for use with ArcGIS 9.x. Download and install the version you require. The program will run in "demo mode" until you purchase a license. In "demo mode," the program is fully functional, but will add a "Not Licensed" text across the exported documents. Once you purchase your copy, you will be given a registration code that will disable the "Not Licensed" text.
>> Download the appropriate version. Once downloaded, follow the on-screen installation instructions.
>> To use DXF Exporter in ArcMap - click on Export Map in the File menu and select DXF in the "Save as type" combo box. Use the Options button to modify the exporter settings.
>> To view the DXF output, do not load into ArcMap but rather download the free Volo View Express: ftp://ftp.autodesk.com/pub/voloview/english/VVEsetup.exe and use it or another CAD package to view the output.
