Fugro Pelagos is Fugro's primary government services business in North America. It is a premier provider of high-resolution hydrographic and seabed mapping services. While continuing to serve industry, it is now also a major contractor to all levels of government, including the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the United States Navy, the United States Army Corps of Engineers, the United States Geological Survey and National Marine Fisheries Service, as well as numerous state and local agencies and academia.

Fugro Pelagos integrates and enhances advanced technologies such as multibeam bathymetry, multibeam backscatter "snippets" imagery, Lidar bathymetry and GIS to provide customers with innovative solutions that have redefined the manner and quality in which the seafloor can now be mapped and displayed. San Diego Office Fugro Pelagos offers a full range of expert services in high-resolution seabed mapping from project consultation, data analysis and interpretation to full project management, data integration and execution. The company has developed innovative and robust data acquisition and processing systems and methodologies that ensure the highest quality data and deliverables. For several years, Fugro Pelagos has held the largest single hydrographic charting contract for NOAA and collected over five billion soundings during this period. Most recently, it used Lidar bathymetry to become the first company to deliver Lidar data of sufficient accuracy to be accepted by NOAA for nautical charting.
