Shoreline Mapping covers the collection of topographic
elevations and hydrographic depths to monitor and determine the
position and condition of the shoreline. These surveys typically
extend several hundred meters (and sometimes as much as a kilometer)
inland from the water line to several thousand meters offshore.
Project lengths range from a few kilometers to thousands of kilometers
along the shoreline. Such surveys are typically performed for beach
replenishment studies and coastal zone erosion monitoring. These
are most often conducted for national, state and local government
agencies.
