WinFrog Lite is a simplified, user-friendly
navigation program developed for customers who need
to fulfill basic marine survey requirements but do
not require the wide-ranging capabilities of the full-scale
WinFrog suite of software. It is a cost-effective
tool for "basic" hydrographic surveys, simple
tow fish (calculated position) surveys and general
surveys where only surface positioning is required.
Using the same code base as WinFrog, but in a scaled-down
version, WinFrog Lite offers a wide range of useful
tools, including the most common navigation functions
and controls, to provide the benefits of a widely-used,
mature navigation package without the complexity and
cost.
WinFrog Lite has the ability to
record and log a wide range of positional data, along
with the data from many other navigational sensors.
These sensors are comprised of various models of GPS
receivers, gyros, compasses, sounders and tide gauges
(or a tide file), including any GPS receiver, sounder
or gyro supporting NMEA 0183 data formats. In addition
to logging data, previously logged data can be displayed
on the navigation screen for reference. WinFrog Lite
also supports several chart and drawing formats for
display as background including ARCS, BSB, DWG, DXF,
SHP, DGN, GEOTIF, TIF and BMP.
The software package also includes
Basic Ribbit, our data and processing software that
allows a user to post process data and create a variety
of charts in plan view.
