Fugro Pelagos conducts seafloor surveying & mapping, underwater sonar inspection, and ocean environmental data acquisition for coastal, beach, nearshore and offshore projects. We support these projects in their site investigation, engineering feasibility / design / rehabilitation, environmental planning & permitting phases all the way to positioning during construction.
We also work on inland water bodies and have conducted successful surveys in reservoirs, rivers, artificial impoundments and lakes. Survey data captured for these applications often play an important role in sediment transport studies, bridge foundation inspections, reservoir capacity calculations, floodplain mapping, and hydraulic modeling.
Fugro Pelagos has an extensive track record for conducting offshore seismic geophysical surveys for geologist/geotechnical engineers' earthquake design and/or retrofitting of critical nearshore infrastructure, such as tunnels, power stations, and port facilities. Similarly, we conduct underwater inspections of outfall pipeline systems, hydrographic surveys for dredging design and pay quantities, kelp and fisheries habitat mapping, seafloor sampling and multibeam echosounding and backscatter for new piers and marine terminal sites.
